As part of Ireland’s first-ever Trade Union Week, which took place in the week commencing 29th April, SIPTU Aviation Sector activists set up a stall in Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport and used it as an opportunity to talk to workers about the value of joining the Union.

The SIPTU stall was very well received by both members and those workers who are not yet union members with leaflets and information booklets distributed throughout the day as well as discussions around the benefits of being a union member.

Across the country Trade Union Week saw thousands of trade unionists taking part in various organised events and activities over the subsequent seven days. The initiative was part of an Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) campaign to promote trade union membership ‘Better in a Trade Union’.
