Date Released: 13 February 2015
The 1913 Lockout Tapestry, produced as part of the centenary commemoration of the 1913 Lockout, will be on display at Pearse Street Library in Dublin from 17th February until 28th March.
The tapestry was designed by artists Cathy Henderson and Robert Ballagh and was produced by 200 adult volunteers and over 60 schoolchildren.
Unveiled in Liberty Hall by President Michael D Higgins in September 2013, it tells the story of 1913 on 32 embroidered cloth panels laid out in a ‘comic book’ style.
It was commissioned SIPTU and National College of Art and Design.
