Eilís Lawlor is a respected economic commentator and academic, Director of Just Economics and  author of “A Bit Rich”. She came to Dublin to give a seminar on the theme of “Why cleaners are more valuable to society than bankers” to mark the launch of SIPTU’s new Responsible Contractor Initiative for the property services sector. She also explained why it was so important to protect existing Employment Regulation Orders (ERO’s) which govern the pay and conditions of over 250,000 workers. These regulations are currently under threat from proposals made by the Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation, Richard Bruton.
