Dear Members,

As 2024 comes to a close, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a happy Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous New Year on behalf of our Union.

This year has been marked by significant challenges across the Irish health service. Yet, together, we have met these challenges head-on and achieved meaningful progress for our members in many areas.

The strength of our Union lies in the unwavering support of our shop stewards, activists, and members. Your commitment and solidarity have enabled your Union to take on difficult battles and secure victories that make a real difference to workers’ lives. From improved pay and conditions to enhanced workplace protections, these wins are a testament to what we can achieve when we stand together.

At the same time, we know there is more to do. This year has also shone a light on areas where further progress is needed. Whether it’s fighting for adequate pay, securing safer staffing levels, or ensuring fair treatment for all, the work of the Union is never finished. But let me assure you—our determination to push forward in 2025 is as strong as ever.

If you need urgent support over the Christmas period, you can contact your local representative, your union organiser, or email us directly at healthdivision@siptu.ie. You can also stay informed via our website and social media channels.

Looking ahead to 2025, your involvement will be more vital than ever. By continuing to grow our collective voice and strengthen our Union, we can ensure that every worker in Ireland’s health service has the respect, resources, and opportunities they deserve.

Thank you for your continued dedication to SIPTU and to the Health Division. Together, we are building a better future for workers and their families.

In solidarity and with best wishes,

Kevin Figgis
