On Monday, 15th May, Congress and SIPTU will jointly launch a major new initiative on the current housing and homeless emergency. The document will be launched by Congress General Secretary, Patricia King and SIPTU General President, Jack O’Connor.The proposals envisage a local authority-led emergency housing response that would double current annual planned public house-building output, along with specific initiatives to tackle problems in the rental sector and achieve greater overall state investment in social and affordable housing.The launch will take place on Monday 15th May in Buswells Hotel, Molesworth St, Dublin 2 at 2.30 p.m. A copy of the Congress policy document will be available at the launch.
