The Executive Council of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions has today (Wednesday, 17th April) unanimously endorsed the outcome of the ballot of public sector workers, which resulted in the rejection of proposals – known as Croke Park II – relating to changes to the pay and conditions of all workers in the sector. The Congress Executive Council also committed to resisting any attempt by Government to unilaterally impose pay cuts across the public sector and reaffirmed that changes could only be brought about by way of consultation and negotiation.
