Education Sector
Organises workers employed in both public and private educational institutions throughout the country. It caters for a diverse range of workers. SIPTU academic and research staff have joined with support staff (e.g. Technical, Administrative and General Operative grades) to form a significant force within education.

The brain child of the SIPTU Dublin City University (DCU) Section Committee the campaign seeks to organise workers to defend universities as places of learning for the common good rather than mere profit generating businesses. The campaign has support in university campuses across the country and is also endorsed by the Irish Federation of University Teachers (IFUT) and the Union of Students in Ireland (USI).
