Members of the Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) wish to correct erroneous media reports and reassure the public that they will continue to maintain a full emergency fire and ambulance response service throughout the ongoing extreme weather event. SIPTU Sector Organiser, Brendan O’Brien, said: “Our members in DFB have maintained their full operational and manning requirements at all times during the current extreme weather event. They will continue to provide all aspects of the DFB emergency fire and rescue service during the coming days when the weather situation is expected to deteriorate further. “Recent media reports stating otherwise are completely incorrect and should be ignored.” SIPTU DFB Convenor, Shane McGill, said: “DFB stations are equipped with the necessary overnight facilities and supplies to ensure they remain in operation over the coming days. Our firefighters and paramedics will do their utmost to reach any members of the public who require their assistance. “Any member of the public who may require the assistance of the DFB Fire Based Emergency Medical Service should not hesitate in calling it.”
