SIPTU has announced that the union has suspended its pickets at GMC Civil and Mechanical Engineering today (15th September) following an agreement to enter talks at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC). The talks, which begin at 11am this morning, were agreed by both sides in an effort to resolve a dispute that saw strike action begin on Wednesday at GMC offices across Ireland. SIPTU Divisional Organiser, Adrian Kane, said: "GMC workers made their feelings clear this week at picket lines across the country. They have demonstrated their commitment to securing a just resolution to this dispute and we are hopeful that today's talks will be a step forward on that path."
