Renowned labour historian, Dr. Emmet O’Connor, will deliver the 40th Countess Markievicz Memorial Lecture in the UCD Michael Smurfit Business School, Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, Room C201 on Friday, September 2, at 11.00 a.m. The topic of the lecture is “Re-imagining Labour: attempts at reforming trade unionism from within, 1864-1975”. The lecture will be followed at 12.00 p.m. by a roundtable panel discussion on ‘Ethics and Employment in 2016’ featuring Patricia King (ICTU), Rhona Murphy (IBEC) and Michelle O’Sullivan (UL).
