Renowned labour historian, Dr. Emmet O’Connor, will deliver the 40th Countess Markievicz Memorial Lecture in the UCD Michael Smurfit Business School, Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, Room C201 on Friday, September 2, at 11.00 a.m. The topic of the lecture is “Re-imagining Labour: attempts at reforming trade unionism from within, 1864-1975”. The lecture will be followed at 12.00 p.m. by a  roundtable panel discussion on ‘Ethics and Employment in 2016’ featuring Patricia King (ICTU), Rhona Murphy (IBEC) and Michelle O’Sullivan (UL). The event, which is open to the public, is being hosted by the The Irish Association for Industrial Relations, in conjunction with the Annual Irish Academy of Management Conference, and with support from the Workplace Relations Commission.
