Despite the welcome fall in jobless numbers Irish unemployment levels remain some 50 percent above the levels that prevail in non-programme countries within the EU15, the latest issue of the Labour Market Monitor has revealed. The information is contained in the second issue of the Labour Market Monitor (LMM), the new quarterly online publication from the Irish Congress of Trade Unions that provides analysis and information on key trends within the labour market. The second issue of the LMM takes a closer look at the issue of unemployment and also examines atypical work and low pay, wage pressures in the retail and communications sector and also looks at the application of the minimum wage in Germany and Poland.
