The Public Service balance sheet

SIPTU Vice-President, Patricia King said at the MacGill Summer School, Glenties, county Donegal, that a considerable amount of heat but not too much light has been generated in the on-going debate on public service reform. Addressing the event on Wednesday, 25th July, she said that behind muuch of the comment "lurks an agenda that is based on a false premise that slashing public services and the pay and conditions of those who provide them is some ‘quick fix’ solution to this country’s deep economic crisis."
