The Irish Congresss of Trade Unions is to host a major economic conference on the way forward for Ireland, on Friday April 11. The conference will take place in The Round Room, The Mansion House, Dublin. 'A New Course for Better Times' will feature contributions from Reiner Hoffmann, the head of Germany's largest union federation; Professor Sean O'Riain (NUI Maynooth); Minister for Social Welfare, Joan Burton, TD; Professor David Jacobson (DCU); Rory O'Donnell (NESC); the Danish Ambassador to Ireland, Niels Pultz and Catelene Passchier of Dutch trade union federation, FNV. The conference will also hear from Congress President John Douglas and General Secretary, David Begg along with Labour MEP Emer Costello and Sen.
