Members will recall that SIPTU has continuously pursued engagement with the HSE on matters arising from the implementation of the HSE Support Grade Job Evaluation Scheme. When matters could not be resolved via local engagement, the Union referred a claim to the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) for conciliation.
The Union attended the Workplace Relations Commission on the 27th August to discuss this claim. Members of the national Support Grade Sector Committee attended this conference.
SIPTU representatives outlined the concerns of members arising from the implementation of the scheme. The Conference was adjourned for four weeks at the request of the WRC.
While the HSE maintains its stated position, the WRC has requested that it engages directly with the Department of Health to consider the Union concerns with a view to reengaging at the next conciliation date.
