The EU Directive on Adequate Minimum Wages and a national action plan to promote collective bargaining is firmly on the horizon.

In Ireland, SIPTU and other trade unions are leading the charge over the Directive under the Respect at Work banner.

Our message is simple: we need real legislative change to protect workers who unionise and engage in collective bargaining

As we prepare to go to the polls on Friday, our recent European election hustings held in Cork, Galway and Dublin offered the ideal platform to communicate this message to election hopefuls from a range of different parties.

If your vote is in Dublin please click here to watch the hustings.

If your vote is in Ireland South please click here to watch the hustings

If your vote is in Midlands-North West click here to listen to the hustings podcast.

Candidates were also shown a video featuring Tom, a delivery worker who was sacked for trying to organise a union in his workplace.

The upcoming elections present a real opportunity to vote for election candidates that prioritise strong worker protections, better wages and support our campaign to #StopUnionBusting.

We hope you find the hustings helpful in making an informed choice on Friday June 7th.
