Following discussions between Dublin Bus unions and management, the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), which chaired the talks, expressed its view that there is sufficient scope for the parties to enter intense negotiations in order to resolve the current dispute at the company. SIPTU and the other unions accepted a request by the WRC to defer the planned 48 hour stoppage due to commence just after midnight tonight (Tuesday 27th September). While industrial action is scheduled for Saturday next (1st October), SIPTU and other union representatives are hopeful that progress can be made in discussions which can facilitate the cancellation of further planned stoppages at Dublin Bus.
