SIPTU members in Bus Éireann are expected to ballot for industrial action following a management decision to impose unilateral changes to the pay and conditions of workers at the company. On Wednesday, 30th April, management at the semi-state transport company announced that it intended to introduce reductions in overtime shift and premium payments, and reductions in leave without agreement with workers.SIPTU Sector Organiser, Willie Noone, said staff in Bus Éireann were furious at the company's announcement that it is pressing ahead with the cutbacks which had previously be rejected by workers. He said the company was forcing workers to a ballot for industrial action at the earliest opportunity.
