SIPTU members in Rentokil Initial to conduct work stoppage on 20th December

SIPTU members in the Canon Hygiene Division of Rentokil Initial Ltd. based in Santry in Dublin have served notice of a one-day work stoppage on Friday, 20th December. SIPTU Organiser, Peadar Nolan, said: “Our members will conduct their work stoppage between 6.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on Friday, 20th December. They have been left with no other option but to conduct this industrial action due to a management refusal to discuss their claim for pay restoration with their nominated union representatives. “The company has also refused an invitation to attend the Workplace Relations Commission to deal with the matters in dispute.” He added: “This refusal to engage with union representatives and the industrial relations mechanisms of the State is completely unacceptable. Rentokil Initial Ltd. is engaged in a number of public contracts and as such is in receipt of public funds while refusing to respect agreed industrial relations procedures.”
