SIPTU nursing representatives will tomorrow (Friday, 22nd July) attend a meeting with the Health Service Executive, under the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commission, in an attempt to resolve the ongoing crisis in mental health nursing. SIPTU Sector Organiser, Kevin Figgis said: “We are attending the talks with a view to making progress on outstanding issues facing our members. In addition, we are awaiting the final response of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform on the proposals made to address the industrial issues arising out of the removal of the nursing community allowance for new beneficiaries.” Members can stay informed of developments on www.SIPTUhealth.ie
