SIPTU representatives have today (Monday, 20th August) said that members working in Respond Housing Association will be balloted for strike action unless management agrees to an urgent meeting with union representatives over plans to restructure the company. SIPTU Sector Organiser, Eddie Mullins, said: “It is deeply troubling that Respond Housing Association management are continuing to completely ignore our calls to address the concerns of our members. We have again written to management seeking an urgent meeting to discuss the consequences of the restructuring on our members.” He added: “Should management continue to ignore our calls then our members will have no option but to ballot for industrial action, up to and including, strike action.”
