Former Ulster Bank workers are staging a lunchtime protest today, Wednesday, 15th April at Ulster Bank Head Quarters, Georges Quay, Dublin 2 to highlight the non-implementation of a Labour Court recommendation in relation to their redundancy terms. SIPTU Sector Organiser, Diane Jackson, said: “These workers, who were formerly employed as bank porters, were made redundant in December, 2013. On behalf of the workers, SIPTU took a claim to the Labour Court in relation to the inclusion of regular and rostered overtime in the calculation of their redundancy entitlement.   “The Labour Court recommended in favour of the workers’ claim but Ulster Bank has refused to implement this recommendation.”  She added: “There are less than ten workers involved in this dispute, all of whom gave long and loyal service to the bank. SIPTU is supporting the workers' protest and their call for Ulster Bank to immediately implement the Labour Court recommendation.”
